In my experience as a CEO and a management consultant, I have found that asking the right questions is often 90% of getting to the right answers. Further, I think that many of the questions that are being asked about cost cutting and productivity are not going to get us to the right answers. That is because it is not just about manufacturing or production; it is about fulfilling customer needs and wants in such a way as to produce a profit.
